AVB Struct was founded by Ștefan Abalașei — a civil engineer trained at Gheorghe Asachi Technical University of Iași, with hands-on delivery experience across some of the UK’s most demanding infrastructure projects.
Before launching the practice, Ștefan worked on the front line of British construction — site engineering at SJS Engineering on the M20 Smart-Motorway scheme, civil engineering at eight2O for the Laleham water intake at Thames Water, reactor lining work at Bylor Joint Venture on the Hinkley Point C nuclear project, and topographical surveying around Heathrow and on heritage builds like the Moxy Hotel.
That breadth — from highways and water infrastructure to nuclear and structural surveying — is the foundation of how we work today. AVB Struct combines architectural and multidisciplinary design with rigorous structural analysis, delivered through modern BIM-VDC workflows and a deep respect for the codes that keep buildings safe.
